JJ Quinerly Named AP All-American Honorable Mention

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Junior guard JJ Quinerly of the West Virginia University women's basketball team has been named to the Associated Press' All-American as an Honorable Mention, announced Wednesday.
 
Quinerly is the 30th All-America selection in WVU program history and is the 14th player from the Mountaineer women's basketball history to be named to an All-America team. The Norfolk, Virginia, native is the first All-American for West Virginia since Kysre Gondrezick in 2021 (WBCA/AP).
 
In 31 contests this season, Quinerly has led West Virginia in scoring 21 times and is averaging 19.6 points per contest, the best mark on the team. The junior guard has averaged 3.2 rebounds, 2.9 steals and 2.7 assists throughout the 2023-2024 season. Her 608 points this season are the most by a Big 12 Conference player.
 
Quinerly was named to the Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Year while picking up All Big 12 First Team and Defensive Team honors for the second time in her career this season. She is also a semifinalist for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year and on the WBCA Player of the Year Watchlist.
